You know the feeling: you find something completely obscure on Google. Maybe you're searching for info on Archduke Franz Ferdinand or the Book "The Princess Bride" and you manage to filter out the indie band and the movie respectively. For me, I've gotten really good at Google, so this isn't a source of excitement for me anymore... but finding things in Chinese is!
So here's the video I found (my friend showed me first) --there's English sub-titles of reasonable quality. This video is for the Olympics; it's titled "Beijing welcomes you", and features so many celebrities that it's, like, seven minutes long.
You should watch a few minutes of this video because, like all things Olympics-related, it's a rare chance to glance Chinese trying so earnestly to portray their modern culture to the outside world in a way that they're proud of. For example, they show a little bit of traditional, er, "acting" (the masked characters) and, of course, the old & new wonders (great wall & bird's nest stadium).
FYI, if you're in the mood, let me know and I'll provide a better translation. ("Let's all be brave and hope for a miracle", hehe...)
Edit: The lower-right button is "full-screen", but it opens the original site in a new window... then you have to click the lower-right button again (wait for the ad to go away.)
